When libertarian ideas proved unpopular with voters, the Kochs brothers and their allies pooled resources and funded an interlocking array of organizations that worked together to influence and control academic institutions, think tanks, the courts, statehouses, Congress, and eventually the presidency. Their "beliefs" advanced their corporate interests -they believed taxes were a form of tyranny and that government oversight of business was an assault on freedom.
